FORT DRUM, N.Y. -- Fort Drum Mountain Community Homes has been awarded the Outstanding Achievement Award for their efforts to go green. The Award comes from the New York State Builders Association.

Mountain Community Homes and its parent, Actus Lend Lease, received the award for innovative and environmentally-friendly building designs.
The homes being built, like The Timbers project, feature Energy Star appliances and a stronger building design.

If the award winning homes are a success in the North Country, similar buildings could be built at other military facilities across the country.
